Caloocan Mayor endorses Bongbong-Sara tandem and UniTeam senate slate

Caloocan City Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan has endorsed presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Malapitan, during a UniTeam rally in Caloocan attended by Marcos and Duterte-Carpio on Saturday, Feb. 19, endorsed the UniTeam tandem and pledged to support their campaign on behalf of Caloocan

“Mamamayan ng caloocan, ating idinedeklara ang pagsuporta kay Bongbong Marcos bilang pangulo at ganun din kay vice president o Mayor Sara Duterte na susunod na vice president ng ating bansa (People of Caloocan, let us declare our support for Bongbong Marcos as president and to Mayor Sara Duterte as vice president of our country),” Malapitan said during the rally.

“Ang hinihingi naming vote straight, kailangan sa mga senador din nila, vote straight rin tayo ha (We ask that you vote straight for their senators),” he added.

Malapitan also urged the citizens of Caloocan to vote for the entirety of the UniTeam senatorial slate of 11 confirmed candidates consisting of Gilbert Teodoro; Gringo Honasan; Harry Roque; Herbert Bautista; Jinggoy Estrada; Loren Legarda; Larry Gadon; Mark Villar; Miguel Zubiri; Rodante Marcoleta; and Sherwin Gatchalian.

Meanwhile, actor Robin Padilla who is running for a senatorial seat has also been considered as part of the UniTeam senate slate but has yet to confirm his place on the list.

“Etong gabi na ‘to, nagpapakita na tapos na raw ang eleksyon. Tapos na ba ang eleksyon? Tapos na. Mag aantay na lang ng proklamasyon (Tonight, it shows that the elections have already been decided. All that's left is the proclamation)," Malapitan said to those in attendance.

Marcos, who is running under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), is vying for the presidential seat alongside running mate Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrates party member Duterte-Carpio in the 2022 polls.
