Bren Esports can attest to the firepower that ECHO has after receiving a thorough beatdown from the "super team" in the MPL Philippines Season 9.

Bren coach Paulo “Pauloxpert” Munsayac agreed that ECHO is a team to be feared of moving forward to the season, especially with the squad showing better cohesion in the season opener.
“Kung na 2-0 kami ng ECHO di naman namin sasabihin na mahina sila, ibig sabihin malakas sila. Yes, they should fear them and do some research siguro para makatulong sa draft,” said Pauloxpert moments after the loss to ECHO.
The ECHO main five that featured prized off-season acquisitions in Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno, Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera, and Frediemar “3martzy” Serafico to add to Benedict “BennyQT” Gonzales and Jankurt “Kurtzy” Matira offered an unorthodox play style that Coach Pauloxpert admittedly threw off the rookie-laden Bren Esports off guard.
“I would say na very unorthodox sila gumalaw and very risky sila gumalaw kanina nakikita mo yung experience difference nung both teams,” he commented.
“The experience really showed between the two teams. Beterano lahat ng member ng ECHO from what I remember di ba so the experience definitely showed,” he added.
True enough, ECHO engaged Bren any time it got the chance as its initiators in Yawi’s Tank Chou and 3martzy’s Esmeralda never hesitated with its aggression.
The mechanical skills and the game sense were also in full display as it punished the younger squad every time it tried to fight back in a full 5-on-5 clash.
Despite ECHO’s commanding performance, Bren believes that it’s still too early to tell which team got the upper hand in this season. For one, David “Flaptzy” Canon even said that his squad is not yet heating up with their newcomers still battling rooking jitters.
“First series eh, yung mga kakampi ko galing sa amateurs, siguro nervous lang sila. First series palang naman eh mababago pa namin next week,” said Flaptzy.
Bren also vowed to bounce back next week when it’s set to star in three series.
“Aayusin namin yung mga mali naming this series, we’ll talk about it throughout the week and hopefully, we do better next week kasi tatlo yung series na lalabanan naming,” said Coach Pauloxpert.
