All 9 members of K-pop boy band Cravity now have COVID-19

All the nine members of K-pop boy band Cravity now have coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as South Korea recorded more than 100,000 new daily cases on Feb. 20 due to the highly contagious Omicron variant.

On Feb. 20, Starship Entertainment announced that Cravity member Woobin tested positive for COVID-19.

It said on Feb. 19, Woobin, who is under self-quarantine, tested positive through a self-test kit. He underwent a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test, which finally confirmed on Feb. 20 that he has COVID-19.

The agency said Woobin currently has no special symptoms other than sore throat and he is planning to undergo treatment at home based on the guidelines of health authorities.

Woobin is the ninth and last member of Cravity to be diagnosed with COVID-19.

Last Feb. 12, the agency reported that seven members of Cravity tested positive for COVID-19: Serim, Allen, Jungmo, Minhee, Hyeongjun, Taeyoung and Seongmin. Woobin and Wonjin tested negative.

At the time, it said the seven members had fever and sore throat and were being treated at home.

On Feb. 16, Starship Entertainment announced that Wonjin tested positive for COVID-19 on Feb. 15.

Wonjin was in self-quarantine after getting a negative result in his PCR test on Feb. 12. During quarantine, he developed a fever and sore throat. He tested positive using a self-test kit and underwent a PCR test, which confirmed his positive diagnosis.

Starship Entertainment said all nine members of Cravity are fully vaccinated. It said members use the self-test kit when they have a schedule to confirm that they are negative of COVID-19.

South Korea has recorded at least 100,000 new COVID-19 daily cases in the last three days. On Feb. 20, the Ministry of Health and Welfare announced that 104,828 new COVID-19 cases were recorded to bring the total confirmed cases in South Korea to 1.96 million.

More than 100 Korean stars have tested positive for COVID-19 since Jan. 19.
