Over P750K worth of shabu seized in QC buy-busts

Three drug suspects yielded a total of P761,600 worth of alleged shabu in two separate buy-bust operations conducted by the police in Quezon City on Friday evening, Feb. 18.

Police Lt. Col. Jowie Lucas, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Fairview Station (PS 5) commander, identified the first arrested suspect as Norainah Arien, 24, of Bagong Silangan, Caloocan City.

Based on a tip from a confidential informant, the PS5 launched the entrapment on JP Rizal Street in Barangay Sta. Lucia on Friday at around 11:30 p.m., leading to Arien's arrest.

Police recovered from the suspect 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000, the buy-bust money, and a cellphone used during the transaction.

Meanwhile, the QCPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU), led by Police Maj. Wennie Ann Cale, arrested two suspects in another operation at No. 22 Chapel Area, Sitio Militar, Brgy. Bahay Toro, at around 10:40 p.m. on the same day.

The suspects were identified as Robert Inoc, 42, a resident of Brgy. Toro, and Rebecca Sioc, 41, of Brgy. Sto. Cristo, Quezon City.

Authorities seized from the duo 12 grams of alleged shabu with a market value of P81,600, the buy-bust money, and a cellphone.

The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or "The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022," police said.
