Metro Manila’s coronavirus disease (COVID-19) indicators have improved, but the region remained under the low risk classification, an OCTA Research fellow said on Saturday, Feb. 19.
“Although the trends improved in the National Capital Region (NCR), it remained as low risk,” said OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David in a tweet.

Based on OCTA’s report, the seven-day average number of new COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila had decreased from 777 to 476 as of Feb. 18.
David also disclosed that the average daily attack rate (ADAR) of the region likewise improved from 5.49 to 3.36.
“The positivity rate improved from nine percent to six percent the healthcare utilization rate (HCUR) decreased from 29 percent to 26 percent and the reproduction rate decreased slightly to 0.22,” he added.
Meanwhile, in a separate tweet, David said that with 396 new COVID-19 infections, Metro Manila topped the list of provinces and regions with the most number of cases as of Feb. 18.
