'Thirty-Nine' star Son Ye-jin's agency explains ring she wore on TV show

Korean drama “Thirty-Nine” star and bride-to-be Son Ye-jin is getting extra attention from the public ever since she announced on Feb. 10 that she and actor Hyun Bin will be getting married in March.

Son Ye-jin became a guest on Feb. 16 on the Korean TV talk show “You Quiz on the Block” hosted by “Running Man” star Yoo Jae-suk.

During the show, Son Ye-jin was seen wearing a ring on her ring finger, spawning speculations that it was an engagement ring.

However, MS Team Entertainment, Son Ye-jin’s agency, issued a clarification about the ring.

"It's not an engagement ring or a wedding ring. It's just a fashion ring that the stylist got sponsored for the day's outfit,” the agency said.

On the same day, Son Ye-jin attended the press conference “Thirty-Nine,” her first public event since announcing her marriage plan.

At the event, emcee and actress Park Seul-gi was asked by Son Ye-jin if she was happy with her married life and she replied, “It is so great,” according to SBS News.

Son Ye-jin replied that she is hoping that her upcoming marriage with Hyun Bin will be happy too.

"I hope mine will be like that too," she said.

Son Ye-jin thanked people for the congratulations she received following her announcement.

"Thank you. Thank you, everyone. So many people congratulated me. I feel really thankful. I can't thank everybody enough for it," she said.

She said her marriage to Hyun Bin is like destiny.

"Such a big event has occurred in the beginning of the year that I almost feel like it's destiny," said Son Ye-jin.

Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin starred in the 2018 Korean film “The Negotiation.” It was followed by the hit drama “Crash Landing on You,” which ran from December 2019 to February 2020.

On Jan. 1, 2021, Korean media outlet Dispatch released an exclusive story with photos showing Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin dating. On the same day, they admitted that they were in a romantic relationship.

Last Feb. 10, Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin announced that they would be getting married in March. Their agencies said the wedding will be a private event due to the ongoing pandemic with only family and friends in attendance.
