K-pop boy band Super Junior’s Kyuhyun has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while Seventeen’s Wonwoo has been cured as South Korea breached the 100,000 mark for a single day tally of new cases.
Label SJ, Super Junior’s agency, announced that Kyuhyun has been confirmed to have COVID-19 on the morning of Feb. 18 through a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test conducted on Feb. 17.

On Feb. 17, the agency announced that Kyuhyun underwent the PCR test after testing positive for COVID-19 through a rapid antigen test conducted before the staging of the musical “Frankenstein.”
As a result, he did not participate in the musical on Feb. 17 and was replaced by musical actor Jeon Dong Suk.
According to Label SJ, Kyuhyun received his booster shot and currently has mild symptoms of COVID-19. He has suspended all his schedules and is under self-isolation.
“All Super Junior members and related staff who had contact had negative results, and we are conducting and checking frequently in case of unforeseen circumstances,” it said.

It added, “Wonwoo has been administering self-treatment at home as per health authority guidelines and has not shown any extraordinary symptoms. As his quarantine has concluded, he can resume his activities starting from today.”
“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the fans who have shown concerns for our artists’ health and also to the staff members of the health authorities working tirelessly to overcome the pandemic,” it said.
