Citing a recent interview, PRC said that NWRB advised at there is a high chance of Metro Manila will ne experiencing insufficient supply by April or May as the Angat Dam levels continue to decline.

PRC stated that NWRB Executive Director Sevillo D. David, Jr. mentioned that the level of Angat Dam is already at 196 meters in a recent interview. He added that the ideal level would be somewhere past the 200-meter mark.

He also mentioned that they are trying to avoid reaching 180 meters, which is the minimum operating level. But based on the current projections and rainfall forecasts, they may reach it in April or May.

“Mayroon ang Red Cross ng 22 water tankers, 31 water treatment units, at Firetrucks na handang tumulong kung magkaroon ng water shortage (Red Cross has 22 water tankers, 31 water treatment units and firetrucks that are ready to help in case of a water shortage.,” PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sen. Richard Gordon said

"Sa kasalukuyan ay naka deploy ito sa Palawan, Visayas, at Mindanao at patuloy pa rin ang pagbibigay ng malinis na tubig sa mga naapektuhan ng Bagyong Odette (Currently these are deployed to Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao and continues to provide clean water to those affected by Typhoon Odette)," he added.

Since the start of Typhoon Odette operations last December 2021, PRC has provided more than 9,749,873 liters of clean and potable water to the affected residents.

Even after two months after Typhoon Odette hit Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao regions and affected hundreds of thousands of individuals, PRC provided clean and potable water to Lapu Lapu City last Feb. 17. PRC also distributed 12,000 liters of water to Brgy. Mactan and 12,000 liters in Brgy. Purok.

Through PRC’s Water Sanitation and Hygiene Unit, the humanitarian organization also conducted hygiene promotion to 390 individuals and 322 individuals respectively in the said barangays.

Through the leadership of Gordon, PRC said continues to aid the most vulnerable communities in Lapu-Lapu City affected by Typhoon Odette.

To date, PRC has distributed 3,066 hot meals, distributed 753,000 liters of clean water, cleared 171 cubic yards of debris by means of the PRC’s payloader, and conducted hygiene promotion to 49,764 individuals.
