Parañaque's extensive vax drive brings COVID-19 cases down to 42

Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the extensive vaccination drive in barangay level brought the city’s coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases down to only 42 on Feb. 17.

Olivarez said the city government is conducting COVID-19 vaccinations in all the city’s 16 barangays to make the vaccine more accessible to residents.

Also, the mobile vaccination program (MVP) team headed by Dr. Jefferson Pagsisihan, Ospital ng Parañaque 1 and 2 medical director; and Eva Nono, head of the Parañaque External and Homeowners Affairs, has been making rounds to administer first and second doses of the vaccine, as well as booster shots, to individuals who could not go to the mega vaccination sites.

Olivarez said the City Health Office (CHO) and the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) have recorded 50,344 confirmed COVID-19 cases; 49,491 recoveries; and 777 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The mayor also said that aside from the extensive vaccination rollout in barangay level, the city government is also distributing home care kits to all residents afflicted with COVID-19 and undergoing home quarantine.
