The Department of Energy (DOE) has honored at least three retail stations of Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (PSPC) with “seal of excellence” for the top-tier quality service it has been providing to customers.
The mobility stations of the oil firm had likewise been acclaimed for “maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene” in their facilities.
Arvin Obmerga, head of Mobility Marketing of Pilipinas Shell, asserted that through the DOE program of recognizing the service quality of players in the deregulated downstream oil industry, the company is also gaining traction on extending best ‘customer experience’ to patrons.
“It’s not just because it’s our goal to make sure we’re giving the right service, the right products, with the right prices and a good customer experience,” he expounded.
The three Shell mobility stations feted by the DOE are those in Pasig Boulevard in Pasig City; the J.P. Rizal Street Station in Marikina; and the Shell Forbes Park Compound station in Makati City.
The initiative of the DOE to award industry players with “seal of excellence” has been anchored on recognizing “exemplary retail outlets that have complied with downstream oil industry rules and regulations, provided quality services and maintained the cleanliness of their structures.”
The three awarded Shell stations, it was noted, scored high in at least four major categories – chiefly on: tidiness, sanitation and neatness of the forecourt; restroom cleanliness and spotlessness; excellent station personnel service; and availability of air and water facilities for use of customers.
As explained, the retail outlets and gasoline stations bestowed with “seal of excellence” are evaluated and rated to be “highly compliant with existing government rules and regulations.”
Separately, the DOE in partnership with Pilipinas Shell, had recognized at least 20 Angkas drivers for their valuable contribution to providing motorists and the general public with real-time information on affordable gas prices and what specific locations they can avail of not just competitive prices but also of excellent and efficient services.
Given that government-supported advocacy, Obmerga emphasized “it gives our Angkas rider-partners the opportunity to raise their living conditions, value their own safety and have a voice and value in the industry of which they are members.”
Shell and Angkas already have a well-entrenched partnership since 2019; and that started in Cagayan de Oro – wherein Angkas riders who signed up with Shell GO+ rewards system are given access to discounts, benefits and other privileges at all Shell mobility stations.
“Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Shell and its Mobility stations and Angkas have been working closely with customers to manage their needs during challenging times,” the oil firm stressed.
