Lacson, Sotto defends guesting of 'Eat Bulaga' artists in campaign rallies

Presidential candidate Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and his running mate Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Thursday defended the presence of artists from popular noontime show “Eat Bulaga” during their campaign rallies.

Lacson said they will remain consistent with their stand not to resort to dancing nor singing just to woo voters.

“Hindi naman kami yung sumasayaw na parang lumba-lumba. Hindi kami yun. Intermission yun eh (We do not dance like dolphins. That’s not us. That’s an intermission number),” Lacson said during a Meet the Press forum in Pasay City.

Sotto affirmed this saying: “We are not engaging in dancing or singing.”

But Sotto appealed to critics not to drag the artists who are helping them out in their campaign.

“Huwag idamay yung mga tumutulong sa amin na ang hanapbuhay nila yung pagiging artista. That’s a completely different thing,” he said.
