Kamsahamnida! South Korea donates vaccine cold chain vehicles to PH
Close to 40 vehicles intended to transport coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines were donated by the South Korean government to the Philippines.

A total of 34 cold chain transportation vehicles and four service vans from the Korean International Cooperation Authority (KOICA) and Korean Embassy were turned over by Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Kim Inchul on Tuesday, Feb. 15 to the Department of Health (DOH).
The vehicles, which are equipped with cold storage system, will be deployed to various regions in the country through the Center for Health Development.
According to Kim, the donation is part of the Korean government’s USD 2.5-million assistance which aims to provide cold chain capacity-building for DOH supply chain officers.
"We are very pleased to partner with DOH to support the Philippines COVID-19 vaccination campaign. With the donation of these cold chain trucks and vans, we are expecting to make a further contribution to the National Immunization Program," the Ambassador said.

For his part, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III thanked the Korean government for the donations.
"We are very grateful to our friends from Korea for their tireless effort and generosity in helping more Filipinos get vaccinated. This cooperation is a testament that we are not safe anywhere until we are safe everywhere. Kamsahamnida!” Duque said.
To date, South Korea's contribution to the Philippines in its COVID-19 response reached P10.6 billion. This includes 510,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines; P200-million fund assistance; 970,000 masks; 167 hygiene kits; 1,200 personal protective equipment; 530,000 swab test kits; seven walk-through booths; two extraction equipment; six isolation beds; and rice to 365,000 Filipinos.
Duque said the Korean government also provided assistance for the construction of a molecular laboratory and isolation facility for the local government of Bayawan City in Negros Oriental.
