Honda, the No.1 motorcycle manufacturer in the country, hopes to inject some excitement into the daily ride with its latest sport bike, the all-new 2022 CBR650R.

Designed for both track day thrills and every day commuting, the CBR650R has sporty styling, performance, and features to match.

The CBR650R is powered by a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 16-valve, DOHC inline four-cylinder engine. It produces 70.0-kW at 12,000 rpm, and maximum torque of 63.0-Nm at 9,500 rpm. This configuration gives it strong mid-range power and continuous delivery to the top end. The engine of the 2022 model is now also Euro-5 compliant.

Delivering that power to the rear wheels is a 6-speed transmission with an Assist/Slipper clutch, which requires less effort on the clutch lever and provides smoother upshifts and rapid downshifts.

Besides the smooth-shifting transmission, the CBR also comes with Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) to maintain traction on slippery surfaces or during aggressive riding. The system adjust its engine power to optimize torque at the rear wheel, minimizing slip.

Its steel diamond frame type chassis rides on finely-tuned front and rear suspension. The front features 41mm Showa SFF-BP upside down front forks to return a supple ride. The braking system is composed of dual 310mm x 4.5 mm discs with Nissin radial-mount four-piston calipers and a 240 mm x 5 mm disc with a single piston caliper at the rear. They’re governed by two-channel ABS.

When it comes to lighting, the all-new CBR650R also leads the way. Its brighter headlights are powered by a full LED lighting system for an even stronger beam. The rider gets a negative-display LCD meter panel that offers visibility with advanced information like gear position, digital speedometer, fuel consumption, water temp gauge, and shift up indicator.

Behind is a brake light with Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) technology that detects sudden or hard braking and automatically activates the hazard lamp to warn any nearby vehicles.

The all-new CBR650R not only come with the ideal blend of sporty performance and everyday versatility, it is also an ideal on-road touring companion. It is an expressway-legal bike allowing the rider to take the express route to their chosen destination.

There’s no better cure to a week’s worth of hard work than investing in a vehicle that provides a balance of fun and thrill, exactly what a long weekend ride can deliver.

According to the latest statistics, six million men suffer from depression each year as they’re also less likely to seek help than women. Health practitioners recommend and encourage developing daily habits that addresses stress. Riding motorcycles is one of those great natural therapies, providing the benefit of being outdoors, and in a social circle with similar interests. There’s surely a lot to be gained in owning a motorcycle that’s a breeze to use.

According to a study conducted by neuroscientist Dr. Don Vaughn and published in Brain Research, riding a motorcycle increases sensory focus and improves resilience to distraction. It also increases adrenaline levels and heart rate, and decreases cortisol, the stress hormone. The result highlights that riding a motorcycle decreased hormonal biomarkers of stress by 25%. Sensory focus was also enhanced while riding, and the brain activity suggested an increase in alertness similar to drinking a cup of coffee. While coffee is a default, nothing compares to the joy and excitement a weekend ride can bring. Not only do riders get to satisfy their hunger for speed, they also get to spend time with a solid team that gives them the mental and emotional support they need. With all these benefits a busy, modern urbanite craves, the all-new CBR650R might be just the ticket to kick off the weekend long-ride habit. It’s now available at all Honda Flagship Stores Nationwide beginning February 15, with an SRP of P530,000.
