K-pop idol group and Grammy nominee BTS’ V tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

According to Big Hit Music, BTS’ agency, V has been diagnosed with COVID-19 on the night of Feb. 15.

“V visited the hospital Tuesday afternoon on the 15th after experiencing a mild sore throat and took the PCR test. He was diagnosed with COVID-19 tonight ,” said the agency.

His case is a breakthrough infection or infection of a fully vaccinated individual. Big Hit Music said V “is not presenting any extraordinary symptoms other than a mild fever and sore throat. He is currently undergoing treatment at home while waiting for further guidelines from the health care authorities.”

It said V had contact with other BTS members on Feb. 12 “but everyone was wearing a mask, and there was no close contact. None of the BTS members other than V are presenting any symptoms, and everyone received negative results from the preemptive self-tests.”

“The company places the artists’ health as our top priority and we will do everything we can to aid V in his speedy recovery. We will also diligently cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the health care authorities,” it said.

V is one of the more than 100 Korean stars, mostly K-pop idols, who have tested positive for COVID-19 since Jan. 19.

Last Jan. 30, Jimin tested positive for COVID-19 and was diagnosed with acute appendicitis. He underwent surgery for acute appendicitis on Jan. 31.

He recovered last Feb. 5 and was discharged from the hospital.

“He has since received inpatient care and tested negative on his PCR test before being discharged from the hospital. Jimin showed no extraordinary symptoms during his hospital stay. He had a mild sore throat at the time of his admission but has since completely recovered. We also received word from the medical staff that his surgical site is quickly healing without any issues. Jimin is currently recuperating after being discharged from the hospital,” according to the agency.
