Too early to downgrade Metro Manila to Alert Level 1 -- doctors' group
A doctors' group on Monday, Feb. 14, said it is still too early to downgrade Metro Manila to Alert Level 1 this month as a lot of individuals are still not vaccinated against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

During the Laging Handa briefing, Philippine Medical Society President Dr. Benito Atienza said he prefers that more people get vaccinated first before relaxing COVID-19 restrictions.
" sa amin, ang kailangan muna mabakunahan lahat. Marami pa ring senior at immunocompromised and hindi pa nababakunahan (For us, everyone needs to be vaccinated first. There are still many seniors and immunocrompromised individuals who have not been vaccinated yet)," Atienza said.
"Yung ating babakunahan na kabataan, five to 11 ang dami nyan, 15.8 million, e ang nababakunahan pa lang natin according to Dr. Cabotaje is 69,800 (The number of children aged five to 11 that need to be vaccinated are 15.8 million and the number that we already vaccinated, according to Dr. Cabotaje, are 69,800)," he added.
Atienza said the downgrading of alert level status could be done by region.
Metro Manila is under Alert Level 2 until Feb. 15.
