T1 owner mulls move of Dota 2 team to PH

T1 owner Joe Marsh plans to move his Dota 2 team to the Philippines following the squad’s loss to Boom Esports in the SEA DPC Grand Finals on Sunday, Feb. 13.

In a tweet, Marsh bared the plan of the South Korea-based esports organization to move the entire team here in the country and have the players play in one location.

“Moving @T1 Dota team to full time and getting business internet to avoid a repeat of today. When the guys play in the same area, they are a different. Next DPC should have a different outcome,” wrote Marsh in the tweet which came in the aftermath of T1’s tough 3-1 loss to Boom in the DPC SEA finale.

Apparently, the team was having Internet connectivity issues in the series which even resulted to Karl “Karl” Jayme sitting out in the Game 4. Mc Nicholson “Lelouch-” Villanueva of Polaris Esports then had to play stand-in in the final match of the series which Boom won in a dominant 29-12 tally.

T1 still took home $25,000 prize and 130 DPC points.

Curiously, among those tagged in the Tweet was Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte who played stand-in for Nuengnara “23Savage” Teeramahanon during the regional finals, fueling speculations about the veteran player possible move to official T1 roster.

Filipino T1 players Carlo “Kuku” Palad and Karl, and Indonesians Kenny “Xepher” Deo and Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon were also mentioned in the tweet.
