Paranaque City accepts residents of other cities, provinces for vaccination
Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the city government is now accepting individuals from other cities or provinces for vaccination against COVID-19.
"Gusto ko po ipaalam sa inyo, in the City of Parañaque, hindi po kami namimili kung taga-Parañaque, taga-ibang lungsod, taga-ibang probinsya. Lahat po ay open for vaccination," (I just want to let you know that in the City of Parañaque, we don't choose if you are from Parañaque, from another city, or from another province. We are open to vaccination.), Olivarez said.
Olivarez said the city government has vaccinated around 8,000 children, aged 5 to 11 years, since the start of the vaccination roll out for Bakunahan Para Sa YO (younger ones) on Feb. 7.
He said for children aged 12 to 17 years old, the city government inoculated around 50,000.
The mayor said the city recorded a total of 50, 208 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
Olivarez said the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) reported that the city has 88 active cases and 30 new cases on Feb. 13.
He said the city has a total of 49,345 recoveries from the virus and and 775 deaths.
The mayor said four barangays out of 16 were declared COVID-19-free while another four have the highest number of cases. These are Barangays BF Homes with 17, San Antonio with 12, San Isidro with 11, and Tambo with 10.
Olivarez said the city government continues to distribute home care kits to residents who are undergoing home quarantine.
