The Quezon City government has included more than 13,000 contractual, job order employees in its health insurance program.
“The city government recognizes that the health and safety of our entire workforce is of paramount importance to us. It is the right of our employees -- regardless of their employment status -- to receive protection in the form of health insurance,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.
The program covers all full-time contract of service (COS), job order (JO), and consultant employees of the executive and legislative branches, who have rendered at least six months of continuous and uninterrupted service prior to Feb. 1, 2022.
The program will cover the P100,000 benefit limit per member, per year.
The city’s current health insurance program is valid from Feb. 1, 2022, to Jan. 31, 2023.
Benefits include annual physical examinations, emergency care services, hospitalization or in-patient care and out-patient services, insurance for pre-existing and critical illnesses, and life insurance.
