Presidential candidate and Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Sunday, Feb. 13, donated P7.9 million to 790 families displaced by a massive fire that broke out in Barangays 24, 25, 26, and 27 in Cavite city over the weekend.
Each family will receive P10,000 so that they can rebuild their homes and for other necessities, Domagoso told fire victims temporarily sheltered at the Ladislao Diwa Elementary School.
“Sana makapagbigay kami ng konting pag-asa at tulong upang makabalik na kayo agad sa inyong lugar, na maramdaman ninyo na may kapwa Pilipino na nagmamalasakit po sa inyo (I hope this will help you rebuild your homes and that you may feel that we care for you),” Domagoso said.
The Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer was accompanied by his running mate, Doctor Willie Ong, and their senatorial bets Samira Gutoc, Doctor Carl Balita, and Jopet Sison.
They were joined at the site by incumbent Cavite Representative Francis Gerald “Boy Blue” Abaya and other local officials.
Domagoso said that Abaya sent him a message asking for help for his constituents.
“Si Cong. Blue, nag-text po ‘yan, humihingi po ng tulong, kung puwede tulungan kayo (Cong. Blue texted me to ask for help, asking if we could help you),” he said.
Balita underscored that their team was not there to campaign.
“Hindi po kami nandito para mangampaniya. Nandito po kami to empathize (We are not here to campaign. We are here to empathize.),” Balita said.
If elected President, the Manila mayor said that he will focus on life and livelihood of the people. These are the main pillars of his 10-Point Bilis Kilos Economic Agenda. (Terence Ranis)
