The Mandaluyong City local government ramped up its efforts in protecting not just its citizens, but also Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) against COVID-19 by providing them with COVID-19 booster shots.

In a set of photos posted on its official Facebook page, the local government unit (LGU) deployed booster shots to 301 PDLs and employees of the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong.

The LGU said that its Roving Vaccination Team, tasked to personally inoculate residents and other individuals incapable of going to the city's vaccination sites, were the ones who vaccinated the PDLs and CIW employees
A total of 3,270 individuals at CIW are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19 while 1,898 have been boosted.
Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos renewed her appeal to those who are not yet vaccinated against COVID-19 to get the jab to increase their protection.
She also reminded the public to not be complacent amid the declining number of active COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila.
Mandaluyong's City Health Office (CHO) reported that a total of 1,207,760 COVID-19 vaccines have been deployed to its residents as of Feb. 10. Of this number, 534,599 residents were vaccinated with their first dose, while 516,258 have been fully vaccinated.
