Kris Aquino to fans on her 51st b-day: 'Please don't spend more money on me'

Kris Aquino is celebrating her 51st birthday today, Feb. 14.

She was quick to dissuade fans from sending her material things as gift.

Kris pleaded, “Please don’t spend more money on me. Nakakahiya, and I feel sensitive to the needs of our fellow Filipinos. Alam ko how much food costs have gone up plus ang mahal ng flowers kasi nga Valentine season. Please, unahin niyong regaluhan ang iba. Please choose who really needs your financial support now.”

Kris said she would appreciate it more if followers simply pray for her and someone dear to her and her brother, late former Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

“My true birthday wish? Please pray for someone both Noy and I love so dearly," she wrote.

She didn't identify the person, sharing, "I want to protect the person’s privacy, ang hirap magbigay ng detalye.”

Kris added, “All my prayers now, hindi para sa’kin. I’m asking you to do the same na siya muna ang ipagdasal niyo. Please realize how much this matters to me. Everyone praying for me, ipagdasal din siya.”
