Senatorial candidate and former Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro will put a premium on sustainability when it comes to the laws that he will pursue in the legislature should he win in the May 2022 polls.

This, as the 57-year-old vowed that he would focus on legislations that will support long-lasting economic growth once seated in the Senate.
“Ang kita at trabaho ay magiging pangmatagalan, hindi pangmadalian lamang dahil naka-angkla ito sa matibay na pundasyo (Livelihood and jobs won't be temporary, but long-lasting since they will be anchored on a strong foundation)," Teodoro said.
‘Yan ang tinatawag na sustainability, na dapat ang mga programa ng gobyerno ay naka-angkla sa matibay at tamang pundasyon (That's what we call sustainability, which dictates government programs should have strong and proper foundation)," he underscored.
Teodoro is part of the Senate slate of the frontrunning pair of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Bongbong Marcos and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD). The pair is also called the BBM-Sara UniTeam.
Teodoro took part in the UniTeam's grand rally in Mandaluyong City on Sunday, Feb. 13.
There, the former Tarlac congressman emphasized the need for the government to focus on policies on good governance, infrastructure, peace and order, health, education, and energy as these reforms will pave the way for a conducive business environment in the country.
He said that with a better investment climate in the country, both local and foreign investors will be encouraged to set up their businesses here. This will promote trade and commercial activities and generate jobs and livelihood opportunities for Filipinos, he noted.
Teodoro’s seven pillars in his political platform are expediting vaccine administration to reopen the economy, quality and accessible education, peace and order, food security and sustainability, connectivity through digital and physical infrastructure, upgrading the military and the police, and fostering synergy between private and public sectors.
