About 54 percent of Filipinos claimed that they are “very happy” with their love life while 28 percent said “they could be happier.”

The survey was conducted by the SWS in December 2021 and had a total of 1,440 Adult Filipino respondents.

In contrast to the December 2019 survey, the SWS said those “very happy” with their love life hardly changed from 54 percent, while those saying their love life could be happier fell by four points from 32 percent, and those saying they have no love life rose by four points from 14 percent.

The survey firm noted that: “since 2002, around half of adult Filipinos were recorded to have a ‘very happy’ love life, ranging from the record-low 46 percent in 2004 to the record-high 59 percent in 2011.”

Happiness with love life is high among both me and women, the SWS said.

The December 2021 survey revealed that 56 percent of men saying they are “very happy” with their love life, which is statistically equal to the 51 percent among women.

The survey showed that happiness with love life is higher among those who are married, especially among men.

“In general, married men and married women have a happier love life than their single and with live-in partner counterparts,” the SWS said.

“The percentage of those with a very happy love life is highest among married men (68 percent), followed by men with a live-in partner (65 percent) and single men (26 percent).”

Women with a very happy love life are also highest among those who are married (62 percent), followed by those with a live-in partner (60 percent), and those who are single (27 percent).

The SWS noted that happiness with love life is higher among older men especially among men 35 years old and above, ranging from 59 percent to 60 percent, than among men 18 to 34 years old, ranging from 40 percent to 52 percent.

On the other hand, women with a very happy love life is higher among those 25 to 54 years old, ranging from 51% to 65 percent, in contrast to those among the 18 to 24-year-olds (47 percent) and those 55 years old and above (41 percent).

Happiness with love life has no clear pattern by educational level, the SWS said.
