Iloilo City still 'high risk' for COVID-19 – OCTA

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections in Visayas continue to decrease, but Iloilo City remained “high risk” for the viral transmission of the disease, an OCTA Research fellow said on Sunday, Feb. 13.

OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David, in a Twitter post, said that as of Saturday, Feb. 12, Iloilo City remained “high risk” for COVID-19 with an average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 22.11.

ADAR pertains to the seven-day average number of new cases per 100,000 people.

“As new COVID-19 cases continue to trend downward in Visayas, Iloilo City remained at “high risk” while Bacolod, Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue, Ormoc, and Tacloban were at “moderate risk as of Feb. 12. Strict compliance with safety protocols advised,” said David.

Among the areas with “moderate” ADAR include Bacolod (7.67), Mandaue (7.24), Ormoc (3.70), and Tacloban (4.76), while the remaining areas which include Cebu City (12.05), Lapu-Lapu (11.17), and Iloilo City (22.11) has a “high” ADAR according to OCTA.

All highly-urbanized cities (HUCs) in Visayas were now categorized as “moderate risk”, only Iloilo City remained at “high risk” classification, said David.
