Robredo poses for 'selfie' with supporter who jumps on her campaign vehicle

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, who is running for a Senate seat again, posted about presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo’s compassionate side after she took a selfie with a female supporter despite the commotion during a motorcade.

Trillanes posted a video taken in Tabaco City, Albay wherein Robredo was seen onboard a motorcade vehicle while a supporter tried to board the same vehicle to take a selfie with her.

“Simpleng display ng malasakit. Nahawi ng security pero pinagbigyan ni next President Leni (Simple display of compassion. She was pushed down by security but next President Leni granted her ),” the Senate bet wrote on Facebook.

At first, Robredo had her back on the supporter and did not see as she forcibly boarded the vehicle despite the Vice President’s female security personnel trying to ask the supporter to go down.

She alighted the campaign vehicle, but Robredo finally noticed and asked her security escorts to let her on the vehicle, where they took a selfie.

The video was taken in Tabaco City in Albay on Wednesday, Feb. 9, the second day of the official campaign period. Robredo kicked off her campaign in her home region of Bicol.

Trillanes assured supporters “who are concerned about possible violations of Comelec (Commission on Election) rules” on social distancing protocols because of the pandemic that it’s impossible for the poll body to disqualify the Vice President because of a selfie.

“Kung si BBM hindi na-DQ (If BBM was not disqualified) for not paying taxes, palagay ko naman di nila idi-DQ si Pres. Leni dahil may nagpa-selfie. Tama (I believe they will not DQ Pres. Leni because of a selfie. Right)?,” he asked.

The poll body’s First Division, in a vote of 2-0, voted to junk the three consolidated disqualification cases against Marcos for “lack of merit” despite prior convictions by the Regional Trial Court and the Court of Appeals.
