QC gov't deploys 20 'E-Services kiosks' for easy business permit renewal

The Quezon City local government announced on Saturday, Feb. 12, that 20 "E-Services kiosks" have been deployed in the city to help taxpayers easily process their business permit renewal.

The city's Business Permit and Licensing Department (BPLD) placed the kiosks in different sites for taxpayers' easy online transactions so that they can avoid long queues.

Seven kiosks were set up in the City Treasurer's Office (CTO), one in the City Health Department (CHD), and 12 in satellite offices located in different baranggays, malls, and one-stop shops.

“Mas madali na ngayon para sa taxpayers natin ang pagkuha ng kanilang permit. Hindi na kailangan dumaan sa fixer o humanap pa ng kakilala sa loob para mapabilis ang proseso. Mabilis at patas na ang proseso para sa lahat (It is now easier for taxpayers to get their permits. There is no need to go through a fixer or even find an acquaintance to speed up the process. The process is fast and fair for everyone)," Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

Meanwhile Ms. Margarita Santos, BPLD head, said that some of the kiosks were strategically located in the CTO so taxpayers can easily access their e-services accounts after payment of their dues.

“From there, they can either scan the QR Code found in their permit or manually input their Mayor’s Permit number. They will then receive a digital copy of their business permit through the e-mail address they used to register into the system. Overall, this process takes only about two minutes,” Santos said.

She added that through the city's Automatic Document Delivery System (ADDS), the physical copy of the business permit will be delivered to the registered business address.

The ADDS is a system introduced by the BPLD which will deliver the business permits directly to the applicant's address for free.

The local government said that there are also BPLD staff manning the kiosks to guide first-time users through the process.

Residents can also file applications for occupation permit, Pangkabuhayang QC, QCitizen ID, QC Vax Easy, Real Property Tax Payment, and Solo Parent certificate renewal using the E-Services kiosks.
