Heart Evangelista and Issa Litton paid tribute to local designs in the teleserye "I Left My Heart In Sorsogon" as they wore fabulous creations by Daryl Maat.

“I've always been inspired by our heritage and for this collection, I wanted to represent the LuzViMin. Since [we're in a pandemic, the challenge here was the procurement of materials and services from different places and the solution is to have everything coordinated online,” Maat said.

Maat also said that his carefully crafted pieces were inspired by the vibrant Filipino culture, as seen in its materials and designs.

Most of the materials were sourced from other parts of the country so that he could come up with a Pinoy-stamped collection, he added.

“I had fabrics ordered in Baguio, weaved rattan in Pampanga, pili beads from Sorsogon, embroideries made by the T'boli's in South Coabato, and beaders from Bulacan,” Maat said.

The Filipino fashion designer said he paid homage to the Filipino identity in order to capture Heart's character development in the story.

“The first collection I designed for Celeste was very forward. As the story progresses, Celeste's design aesthetics mature as well. With this in mind, I designed something that gives homage to her roots and her culture but is very detailed and refined,” he added.
