Most overseas voters are from Middle East and Africas region, Comelec data shows

Most of the 1.697 million registered overseas voters for the upcoming May 2022 polls are from the geographical region of the Middle East and Africas, having a total of 786,997 which is around 46 percent of the total number of overseas voters.
This was according to the data on overseas voters released by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Saturday, Feb. 12.

Most of the overseas voters situated in the Middle East and Africas are female, with a total of 463,344, while 323,653 are male.
The second geographical region with the most number of overseas voters is the Asia Pacific at 450,282.
More than half of the overseas voters in the Asia and Pacific are females (324,867) as there are only 125,415 males.
It was followed by North and Latin America with 306,445 overseas voters, which has a breakdown of 123,936 males and 182,509 females.
The region with the least number of overseas voters is Europe which only has 153,491. Of the said number, 101,439 are females while 52,052 are males.
Per the data provided by the poll body, 19,584 overseas voters are seafarers while 1,677,631 are “land-based.”
