Comelec urges celebrities not to use shows, platforms to endorse candidates: 'That will be an issue'

Celebrities eager to hobnob with political candidates via their shows should be careful.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday said this might be an "issue."
Why?
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez explained: “That will be considered donated advertising time e, so that will be an issue."
He added: "Under election laws, candidates who have programs should take a leave from their programs. We do not refer to endorsers but again it’s good practice siguro to not use their platforms to campaign because magiging issue 'yan in terms of using these platforms for campaign purposes."
Note that some celebrities have openly endorsed candidates.
Some even attended proclamation rallies of their bets.
Others have featured them in vlogs.
The 90-day campaign period for national posts started on February 8.
