Cavite is 'Marcos country' after Remulla's declaration of support

Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla has described his province as "Marcos country", something that the camp of presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. trumpeted on Saturday, Feb. 12.

This came after Marcos Jr. wooed on Friday Cavite residents and earned the endorsement of the coveted, vote-rich province.

According to Marcos Jr.'s camp, Remulla assured them that all local officials of Cavite will fully support the tandem of the former senator and his running mate, vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

"Mr. President (Marcos) pinapangako na namin ang Cavite ay para sa inyo. Pinapangako na namin ang 800,000 plus votes dito sa Cavite para sa inyo. Pinapangako ko ang lahat ng suporta ng mga mayor ng Cavite sa inyo tandaan nyo, dito sa Cavite sagot na namin lahat (Mr. President Marcos, I assure you that Cavite is for you. I promise that you will get the 800,000 votes here. I promise you'll get the support of the Cavite mayors. We will cover everything for you here in Cavite)," Marcos Jr.'s camp quoted Remulla as saying.

"Walang gagastusin ang BBM campaign dito sa Cavite, sagot na namin lahat â€˜yan (You will not spend anything in your campaign here in Cavite. We got you covered)," it added.

Marcos Jr. visited General Trias, Cavite on Friday and Silang, Cavite on Saturday. His camp said he is leading the presidential surveys conducted in the province, even if his Palace race rival Sen. Panfilo Lacson was a known native.
