Brawner cites four Army units for good military governance

Lt. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., Commanding General of the Philippine Army (PA), has cited four military line units of the 5th Infantry Division (5ID) for meeting the standards of good governance in the organization.

Brawner conferred the Army Governance Pathway (AGP) “Compliant Status” to the 95th Infantry Battalion; AGP “Initiated and Compliant Status” to the 98th Infantry Battalion; and AGP “Proficient Status With Gold Trailblazer Awards” to the 86th Infantry Battalion and 5th Military Intelligence Battalion during his visit to Camp Melchor F. Dela Cruz in Gamu, Isabela on Friday, Feb. 11.

The AGP is being implemented by the Philippine Army to acknowledge the performance of units that showcase the standards of excellence in governance and strategy management in the military.

It is consisted of four stages – Initiated, Compliant, Proficient, and Institutionalized – which aim to drive results, reward performance, and institutionalize the Army Transformation Roadmap (ATR) in the organization.

The Army Transformation Roadmap, on the other hand, is a long-term, 18-year transformation and governance program that started in 2010.

It seeks to “transform the Philippine Army into a credible, reliable, responsive, more capable, and more professional Army” that is “committed to its mandate to serve the people and secure the land.”

Brawner lauded the 5ID units for their “dedication to contribute to the realization of the Philippine Army’s vision of becoming a world-class Army that is a source of national pride by 2028.”
