PDEA arrests alleged drug pusher, seizes P440K 'shabu' in Butuan City sting

Anti-narcotics authorities seized P440,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine or "shabu" from a suspected drug pusher during a buy-bust operation in Butuan City on Thursday, Feb. 10.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XIII said that Romher Antonio Bas was collared after he allegedly sold shabu to an undercover agent in Purok 8, Barangay Baan Kilometer 2.

During the transaction, the PDEA-13 said that the undercover agent managed to buy P40,000 worth of shabu from Bas. Stand-by law enforcers immediately pounced on Bas after receiving the pre-arranged signal of the consummated drug deal.

When frisked in front of lawful witnesses, the anti-narcotics operatives confiscated P400,000 additional worth of shabu, cellular phone and other drug paraphernalia aside from the vehicle used by Bas for the illegal drug deal, the PDEA-13 said.

The operation was carried out by composite teams from PDEA and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Bas will face charges for violation of Republic (RA) 9165 otherwise known as ‘The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
