One of the petitioners of the disqualification case against presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. on Friday, Feb.11, vowed to appeal the decision of the Commission on Election’s (Comelec’s) First Division dismissing the disqualification petitions against Marcos.
In a statement, Akbayan party-list nominee Perci Cendaña said they will file a motion for reconsideration before the Comelec en Banc and “pursue this case to the very end.”

Although dismayed by the unfavorable decision, Cendaña said they were not disheartened by it, saying such is a “bend in the road, not the end of it.”
In addition, the Akbayan party-list nominee said the decision is “a missed opportunity to defend the truth and protect the public...”
Meanwhile, Comelec Spokesperson James B. Jimenez said petitioners may appeal the decision of the First Division.
“There is an appeals process and then it's very heartening to hear that they will continue with the process and maybe let's just keep it at that,” he said during a press briefing.
He welcomed the pronouncements of some petitioners that they would appeal the decision of the Comelec First Division.
“So ultimately, it's good that they're going to stay with the process, and that's perhaps the best outcome that you can hope for right now,” the poll body spokesperson said.
On Thursday, Feb. 10, Jimenez said the poll body’s First Division dismissed the three petitions seeking to disqualify Marcos “for lack of merit.”
