Gov't urged to create 'pandemic exit plan' amid decreasing COVID-19 infections
Amid the decreasing number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections in the country, a health reform advocate said that the Philippines should focus on creating a pandemic exit plan, conduct more testings, and ramp up its vaccination programs.

“ cases going down including positivity rate. We need COVID-19 pandemic exit plan details focus on testings, vaccination and booster programs,” said health reform advocate and former National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 special adviser Dr. Anthony “Tony” Leachon in a Facebook post on Friday, Feb. 11.
Leachon likewise urged the national government to “prevent campaign period surges” and commercialize the messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) vaccines in the country.
Meanwhile, the health expert previously stated that the country’s officials should “carefully review” Metro Manila’s transition from Alert Level 2 status to Alert Level 1 and wait until March 1, 2022, to observe whether the cases would spike up.
Metro Manila is under Alert Level 2 until Tuesday, Feb. 15.
Furthermore, the government’s pandemic task force is expected to announce the updated alert levels in the country by Monday, Feb. 14.
