More than 52,000 children aged five to 11-years-old already received their first dose of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
“ 52,262 children in 56 vaccination sites were inoculated since the DOH started its pediatric vaccination,” DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire reported on Friday, Feb. 11.
Vergeire said that only four children experienced “non-serious reactions after being vaccinated.” The four kids only had mild adverse reactions.
The Philippine government started its COVID-19 vaccination program for the said younger population last Monday, Feb. 7.
