The junking of the three petitions seeking to disqualify Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’s presidential candidacy is a welcome development for Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, she told the press on Friday, Feb. 10.

“Of course this is a welcome development for the UniTeam at nakikita po natin na tuloy- tuloy na yung kanyang kandidatura and tuloy-tuloy na rin yung aming pangangampya para sa halalan 2022 (as his candidacy will continue and so will our campaign for the 2022 elections),” Duterte-Carpio said during a chance interview at a UniTeam campaign sortie in Nueva Vizcaya.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced the dismissal of the three petitions lodged against Marcos on Thursday, Feb. 10.
According to the Comelec First Division, the petitions made against Marcos by Akbayan, Bonifacio Ilagan and Abubakar Mangelen "lacked merit".
Duterte-Carpio is running for the vice presidential seat alongside Marcos, who is running for the presidency.
The lady mayor chairs the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) party.
