OCTA: Metro Manila now 'low risk' for COVID-19

Metro Manila is now classified as “low risk” for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), an OCTA research fellow said on Thursday, Feb. 10.

OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David, in a Twitter post, said that as of Feb. 9, Metro Manila has been classified as “low risk” for COVID-19.

“National Capital Region (NCR) and Quezon are now at low risk while Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal remained at moderate risk mainly due to high positivity rates. The public is advised to continue to observe health protocols,” said David.

Metro Manila and Quezon, the only areas categorized as “low risk,” has a COVID-19 positivity rate of nine percent and eight percent.

Among the areas classified as “moderate risk” were Batangas (14 percent), Cavite (17 percent), Laguna (13 percent), and Rizal (10 percent).
