Gracenote celebrates its birthday with fellow #Kakampinks

On Tuesday, Feb. 8, Gracenote celebrated 14 years of being an OPM band at the LeniKiko Volunteer Center along Katipunan Avenue. It was a patriotic celebration, to say the least, as this event was for the proclamation of Vice President Leni Robredo, her running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan, and their senatorial candidates.

Various artists also expressed their support by performing at the proclamation rally—the main one at Plaza Quezon in Naga City and the one that was held at the Volunteer Center in Quezon City. The Company and Rivermaya performed for their fellow Kakampinks at Naga City, while Gracenote and Moonstar88 played at Quezon City.

Fans would remember that Gracenote started when its members met at St. Scholastica's College Manila back in 2008. As with many bands starting off, they played in small gigs. A number of rehearsals after, they entered band competitions, eventually being the Grand Champion of the DZUP: College Collision in 2009.

Gracenote’s initial album, “First Movement,” was released in 2012 with the hit song “Minsan lang Naman,” produced by 6cyclemind’s Rye Sarmiento, under Universal Records. Since then, the band has worked with artists such as Yeng Constantino, Abra, Chito Miranda, and December Avenue.
