Bongbong not the 'common enemy' of his poll rivals, says spox

Presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is not the "common enemy" of other Palace bets, his camp said Thursday, Feb. 10.

This came after Lito Banayo, the campaign manager of Manila Mayor Franciso "Isko Moreno" Domagoso, who is also an aspiring president, said that the common enemy of all the "presidentiables" was Marcos Jr.

Marcos Jr. has been the consistent frontrunner in the pre-election surveys.

"From where we sit, Lito Banayo is way off the mark. The common and biggest enemy is unemployment," lawyer Vic Rodriguez, Marcos Jr.'s spokesman, said in a statement.

"Had he not been hateful, he could not have missed the site of the real enemies, which are unemployment at 6.5 percent and underemployment at 16.7 percent based on PSA (Philippine Statistics Authority) November 2021 statistics," he added.

Rodriguez said that in these "difficult times", the Filipino people must heed the call of their presidential bet, Marcos Jr., "for national unity".

Rodriguez said: "It is vital to strengthen the spirit of tripartism among government, private and labor sector and achieve the common goal for all--job preservation and job creation."
