Bongbong-bound Benhur an 'asset anywhere he goes', says House leader
Manila 1st District Rep. Manny Lopez has nothing but good things to say about Benhur Abalos, who recently resigned from his post as Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman in order to become presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos's campaign manager.

"I am certain that he will be an asset anywhere he goes," Lopez said of Abalos Thursday, Feb. 10.
According to Lopez, Abalos was able to lead the decision-making process with Metro Manila mayors during the height of uncertainty regarding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
" served the agency well and was able to unite the opposing views of the 17 different local chief executives," said the congressman, who is seeking reelection in the May polls.
"In Congress, he commands respect among his peers being a former solon and was able to increase the budget without any opposition," added Lopez, who chairs the House Committee on Metro Manila Development.
Abalos served as MMDA chieftain for just over a year. He took over the helm at the agency in January 2021 following the passing of Chairman Danilo Lim.
"The agency will miss an experienced and talented chairman. Godspeed!" Lopez said of Abalos.
Lopez is the son of the late former Manila mayor Mel Lopez Jr.
