Action PH pulled off a 2-1 reverse sweep against Bren Esports to kick off its VCT Challengers PH campaign on a winning note on Thursday, Feb. 10.

After surrendering the first map in Haven, APH came alive in Icebox and Acend to turn back Bren Esports and register its first win of the season.
Georggyy shone in the comeback win as he spearheaded the attack using his Jett with game-high 28 kills in the second map and another 20 kills in the winner-take-all.
Action PH was solid on the defenders’ side in the first half of Icebox, scoring eight rounds against Bren’s four to start off the comeback bid. Bren looked steadier after the switch as it beaten APH in first four rounds of the second half.
Action, however, regained its bearing midway through and took the next five rounds to score a 13-7 Game 2 win and force the rubber-match.

It seemed like Bren will cruise to the victory in Map 3 following 5-2 start in the first half on the defenders’ side but Action PH somehow recovered and cut the lead down to just two, 7-5 at the half.
A four straight round to open the second half allowed Action to seize momentum and eventually the full control of the match. Action closed out the series with four straight rounds to take a 13-9 decider.

Bren actually had a splendid start to the season with a 7-5 advantage in the first half in Haven. It even went on to take the series’ first blood after securing the final six rounds after the switch for a 13-7 triumph.
Xavi8k, who had a whopping 33 kills in the opener, and Bren, however failed to sustain the hot start after falling behind early in Map 2.

APH hope to follow up the big win when it collides against Oasis Gaming on Friday, Feb. 11 while Bren will get the chance to bounce back against tournament favorites Team Secret on Saturday, Feb. 12.
