The Taguig City government has issued rules and guidelines in the celebration of Chinese New Year in the city.
According to the Taguig Safe City Task Force Advisory No. 65, to lower the risk of transmission of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), face masks must be worn at all times and allowed to “be removed only when drinking or eating at their designated seat or table.”

The advisory also issued guidelines covering parades or processions and fireworks displays. The task force said the following must be observed:
A. PARADES OR PROCESSIONS
a. Activities including Lion and Dragon Dances to celebrate CNY 2022 shall be held only in one designated area within the establishment;
b. Parades and processions shall be allowed to be held without any invited audience present;
C. In order to avoid crowds and mass gatherings, parades and processions shall only be allowed during off-peak business hours;
d. Parades or processions in public streets, parks or plazas are strictly prohibited.
B. FIREWORKS DISPLAYS
In order to implement Executive Order No.28 or Providing for the Regulation and Control of the Use of Firecrackers and other Pyrotechnic Devices, fireworks displays are allowed only in the designated firecracker zones in the City of Taguig during celebrations for CNY 2022.
“Any person in violation of these guidelines shall be penalized in accordance with Republic Act No. 11332, otherwise known as the ‘Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act’ in relation to Presidential Proclamation No. 922, Taguig City Ordinance No. 24, Series of 2020, otherwise known as the ‘New Normal Ordinance of Taguig City’ and other applicable laws and ordinances. This will be without prejudice to the filing of an administrative case if the violator is a government official or employee,” according to the advisory.
