Enchong Dee vows to defend self vs lawsuit

Actor Enchong Dee vowed to take legal steps to defend himself against the pending lawsuit filed by DUMPER Rep. Claudine Bautista-Lim in August 2021.

Dee made the reaction through an official statement issued by The Castillo, Laman, Tan, Pantaleon, and San Jose Law Firm on Feb. 1.

This is the first time that Dee issued an official reaction following the P1 billion cyber libel case lodged against him six months ago.

The official statement issued by the legal counsel of actor Enchong Dee on the cyber libel case.

"Contrary to some media reports, Enchong Dee has been attending to his professional and personal commitments in the past couple of days and has not made any attempt to evade arrest.

"More importantly, as a show of respect for the rule of law, he voluntarily submitted himself to the authorities and posted bail.

"Moving forward, Enchong will take all the appropriate and necessary legal steps to defend himself against the pending lawsuit," the statement read.dee4

On Monday afternoon, Dee voluntarily surrendered to the National Bureau of Investigation in Quezon City. Later the same day, the 33-year-old actor posted bail for his temporary freedom.

Bautista has filed a complaint against Dee after he criticized her wedding on social media.

“The anxiety, anguish, humiliation and the impact on my and my family’s reputation left us no choice but to file cases against those responsible for causing us so much grief and worry, which almost led to me losing our baby, and which adversely affected some of our constituents’ trust in us,” Bautista said.

Dee has already apologized to Bautista long before she filed a complaint.
