Police seize P340,000 'shabu' from 17-year-old boy in QC

A 17-year old boy was placed under police custody after he yielded P340,000 worth of suspected shabu in Quezon City on Thursday, Dec. 8.

Lt. Col. Morgan Aguilar, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Batasan Station commander (PS 6), said the teen was nabbed in a buy-bust operation conducted on Litex Road, Brgy. Commonwealth in the city at around 7:10 p.m.

PS 6 Station Drug Enforcement Unit operatives placed the minor under their custody after an undercover police officer successfully bought P130,000 worth of shabu from him.

Authorities confiscated more or less 50 grams of alleged shabu from the minor valued at P340,000.

He will be brought to the Quezon City Social Services Development Department for proper intervention, police said.

Meanhwile, the Station Drug Enforcement Units of QCPD Project 4 (PS 8), Payatas Bagong Silangan (PS 13), and Holy Spirit (PS 14) also seized around P47,600 worth of shabu and arrested five other drug suspects in three separate buy-bust operations in the city held on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 9.

All the arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“Makakaasa ang mga mamamayan ng lungsod Quezon na patuloy ang ating paglatag ng mga operasyong naglalayong mapigilan ang anumang banta ng seguridad at kriminalidad sa ating komunidad (Quezon City residents can count on our continuing operations to stop any security threat and all forms of criminality in our community),” QCPD Director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said.
