Iligan opens first-ever Christmas Village

ILIGAN CITY – The Christmas Village at Paskuhan Festival 2022 opened on Dec. 5 at Buhanginan Hills in Barangay Pala-o here.

Iligan Mayor Frederick Siao was elated during the opening of the first-ever Christmas Village in the city.

Siao said the essence of Christmas is about unity and collaboration of everyone.

“For me it’s about helping each other. That’s the essence of Christmas, we need to help the people,” he said.

He thanked participants and organizers of the Paskuhan Festival for making this Christmas a joyful celebration for the people.

Iligan Councilor and head of the city council Committee on Tourism Michelle Sweet Booc cited the opening of the Christmas Village.

“With unity and cooperation, I am confident that the best for Iligan is yet to come and we hope to make it a tourist destination,” said Booc, the Christmas Village committee head.

"Kung ma-improve, maraming bisita (If improved, there will be more visitors) and it will generate income for our city," Booc added.
