K-dramas 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo,' 'Pachinko' nominated at Critics Choice Awards

The TV nominees were announced for the 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards, which will be held on Jan. 15 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. 

Two of the nominees for Best Foreign Language Series are Korean dramas.

The hit Netflix drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” starring Park Eun-bin and Kang Tae-oh, and Apple TV+’s “Pachinko,” starring Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Min-ho and Kim Min-ha bagged nominations in the category.

They are competing against “1899” (Netflix), “Borgen” (Netflix), “Garcia!” (HBO Max), “The Kingdom Exodus” (MUBI), “Kleo” (Netflix), “My Brilliant Friend” (HBO) and “Tehran” (Apple TV+).

“As we embark on holding the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards, we are amazed by the wealth of remarkable television programs that were considered to become this year’s nominees,” said Critics Choice Association TV Branch Co-president Ed Martin.

He added, “Clearly, the industry has rebounded in a big way. We look forward to honoring the year’s finest shows and performances at the upcoming awards ceremony.”

The nominees in the film category will be announced on Dec. 14.
