BACOLOD CITY - A Grade 12 student was arrested after he allegedly sold  marijuana to a police agent for P300 in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sum-ag here on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

Police withheld the name of the 19-year-old student, who is a resident of Barangay Tabunan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

Capt. Rondyl Tapang, head of Police Station 9, said that 10 grams of suspected marijuana worth P1,500 were also confiscated from him.

Tapang said the operation was conducted in response to the complaint of some teachers regarding the alleged rampant selling of marijuana in a public high school.

Police conducted validation and monitoring, leading to the arrest of the high school student.

Tapang said the customers of the suspect were not only students, but also e-bike and tricycle drivers.

“This may serve as a stern warning to students to never get involved in illegal drugs, or they may end up in jail,” stressed Tapang.
