Geneva Cruz clears Sheryl Cruz's absence at reunion

Many questioned Sheryl Cruz 's absence at a recent reunion involving celebrity cousins Geneva, Sunshine and Donna Cruz.

Geneva finally cleared the air via social media.

She wrote, "To all those asking for Ate She… she was already Sheryl Cruz, acting and working, so hindi na namin sya nakasama sa paglalaro growing up since nauna sya samin sa show business."

She added, "Marami pa kaming mga kamag-anak na wala dito, including Rayver and Rodjun na close rin sa amin. Hindi naman po lahat ng mag-kakamag-anak super close, diba?"

"We love and respect Ate She, which should be acknowledged. We would much rather focus on celebrating and seeing a kababata/cousin who is very close to our hearts and whom we haven't seen in a year. Salamat po. Godspeed!"

Note that it was Geneva who made public the reunion, sharing a video of her surprising her cousins.

She wrote last Dec. 5: "I made it to our mini-reunion 3 nights ago… had to come from work kasi. So happy to be able to spend two days with our Cebu-based cous @donnacruzofficial."

"We have missed you so deeply, Doings! Nako! With matching happy tears kami, and syempre, hindi pwedeng walang kantahan or sayawan ‘pag nagkita-kita! I love my cousins and sisters so much!!!"

Geneva also penned this posting a series of photos: "The memories we make with our #family is everything. I feel you’ll fall in love with our family, too, because we are super colorful and fun… see? Haha! I love all of you so much! Until our next get-together!"

On the other hand, Donna noted how she's "thankful" being able to get together with her cousins.

Sunshine, meanwhile, noted via a social media post how she had a blast at the reunion.

"Your family is the best team you could ever have," she re-quoted.

Geneva replied: "AMEN!!! We got each other’s back forever!"
