DPWH completes riverbank project in Batangas

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a 318-meter riverbank protection structure on Palico River in Barangay Bilaran, Nasugbu, Batangas.

DPWH-Region 4-A (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon area) Director Jovel G. Mendoza said that the flood control structure constructed under the DPWH flood management program consists of a concrete revetment wall on steel sheet piles.

“The completion of the flood control facility will ensure the safety of nearby low-lying communities, from the effects of flooding during heavy rains,” Mendoza added.

The P75-million flood control structure funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2022 was implemented by DPWH-Batangas First District Engineering Office.
