NPA medic surrenders to cops in Bulacan


A New People’s Army (NPA) member voluntarily surrendered to Bulacan police in Sampaloc, San Rafael, Bulacan on December 5.

Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, identified the surrenderer as alias Ka Biboy, 35, a construction worker and claiming to be a medic of the NPA operating in Nueva Ecija and Aurora.

Lt. Col. Laurente A. Acquiot, commander of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), said that on Dec. 5, at about 9:30 p.m., joint elements of 1st and 2nd Bulacan PMFC, 24th Special Action Company PNP Special Action Force (SAF), and 70th Infantry Brigade (IB) Philippine Army, and Bulacan Provincial Explosive Canine Unit (PECU) PECU, facilitated the surrender of alias Ka Biboy who turned over one 9mm pistol, one magazine, and a hand grenade.

Ka Biboy is presently under the custody of the Bulacan 2nd PMFC for investigation and debriefing.

The Bulacan police force continues its intensified campaign against insurgency and terrorism to ensure the provision of social services, employment opportunities, and improved quality of life in communities that have been vulnerable to armed conflict.
